It’s that Time of Year Again: Friends & Family Time!

It’s time for us to invite you back into our stores on Friday, November 8, 2019 for our Winter Friends & Family Celebration at all Alpine Shop locations, or at our Manhattan, Kansas, store—The Pathfinder!

You read that correctly – take 20% off the full, retail price on almost everything in our stores including all apparel, outerwear and footwear. We’re even offering the same deal throughout our camping department, as well. Looking for some new goggles? Those, too! Bike gloves? Yep! You get the picture. Certain exclusions apply. See below.**

We know you’ll work up an appetite shopping for all these deals, so we’ll be providing complimentary food and drink for you to enjoy while you’re in the store with us.

The receptions start at noon on Friday, Nov. 8 and keep on going until we close up the shop for the night, but the deals start from the moment we open our doors. There’s absolutely no charge to attend!

Need Halloween Costume Ideas? Visit Alpine Shop!

Raise your hand if you’re a last-minute costume shopper.

We get it. We’ve found ourselves looking up costume ideas a week – or even a day – before Halloween, too. While it’s tempting to buy a cheap plastic costume that will get tossed immediately after Halloween, we have a better idea.

Sometimes, all it takes is a brown vest, a pair of hiking boots, and a just-right hat to win over your neighbors on Halloween. Dress your kiddo as a park ranger and include this hat as the perfect accessory!

Another Round of Awards for Alpine Shop in 2019

2019 continues to bring Alpine Shop more awards. The 2019 Terrain Magazine Readers Choice Awards were released today and Alpine Shop is all over it, with two wins and three finalist awards.

Here’s the breakdown:
Best Outdoor Store
Best Adventure Race – (Castlewood 8-Hour)
Finalist – Best Trail Running Event (Trail Run Series)
Finalist – Best Outdoor Expo/Festival (Get Outside Expo)
Finalist – Best Outdoor Guide/Instructor (Head Instructor Perry Whitaker!)

Here’s Alpine Shop’s tally for 2019:
• Retailer of the Year by the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance, a nation-wide honor for the top independent specialty retailer in the outdoor industry.
• Outdoor Retailer Inspiration Awards Finalist: Award given out at the industry’s Outdoor Retailer show in Denver, Colo., to a retailer working to inspire others to get outside.

When you purchase a Glennon Card – either at Alpine Shop, on on-line at www.glennoncard.org, 100% of your money benefits the kids cared for by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. Plus, the Glennon Card also provides you with significant discounts at over 345 retailers, restaurants and salons in the area (including Alpine Shop!) through this Sunday, October 27. With unlimited use for 10 days, it’s easy to recoup the cost of the card. Best of all, 100% of card sales benefit the kids.

Here’s how it works: You can purchase a Digital Glennon Card on-line here for $50 and use it all participating merchants, or if you would prefer a paper version, you can grab one for $60 at any Alpine Shop retail location now through Oct. 27. Turn OLD Gear Into SOLD Gear

Our 26th Annual Winter Swap kicks off on Friday, October 18 at our Kirkwood and Columbia, Mo., stores with a tent full of used skis, snowboards, bikes, boats, camping gear and apparel.

This is your chance to OLD gear into SOLD gear! Bring in last year’s set of skis, or your bike that hasn’t gotten much use over the past couple of seasons. We’ll provide the crowds to shop it all. It’s a perfect situation to turn that used gear of yours into store credit with us, or a check to use as you please!

Used gear check-in runs from noon till 8 pm through Thursday, Oct. 17 at both Kirkwood and Columbia locations. For full information on what you can sell (and also what we won’t accept) take a look at the complete Swap rules here.

Then come back on Friday with the tent opening up at 6 pm!
